Calypso.......

Just wanted to tell you about Calypso!! He was at one of the shelters here in town and was going to be released.....didn't know that meant put down....but hey. I felt so bad for him I offered to foster. Some guy offered to drive him from the shelter to our place so we could vet him, fell in love and offered to foster himself!!!  You gotta love that!! He was in pretty bad shape....

That's my hand on top of him.....he's a tall guy and only weighed 34 pounds!!!! He has mange, sores and is heartworm positive, of course. We took him and got him neutered , started him on antibiotics and heartworm meds. Then we started getting him to eat....he really needs to gain some weight.

A week later his new foster showed up to take him home....here he is on the ride home!!!

His new foster is willing to give him his meds and whatever it takes to get him well and happy again.....I hope the next time I post about him he is looking good and a being shown off at events!!! Thank you Kalen for helping our boy.

Busy Weekend......

While we were off at the Husky Haven fundraiser last weekend a lot of other things were happening. We had 3 adoptions, in fact Kati filled out her adoption paperwork at the event!!!! She lives a ways away and we were going to be there anyway, much easier. She was so happy to be that boy's Mom!!!!

I'm so glad you guys decided to become a failed foster like the rest of us!!! He will have a wonderful life with the three of you!!!!
Elfie had been in foster for a while and he also got his forever home last weekend. He was a really great boy that had been adopted, then brought back.....not going into that. He was back in foster pretty quickly and they just decided he should stay!!!!!

We wish you a wonderful new life and hope that the second time will be the charm!!!!
Then Alvin, one of the last of the "Husky-mix" puppies also got adopted. The whole family fell in love and he has his permanent spot!!!

We only have one baby left out of that litter, Brady, hope he gets his chance soon!!!! Good for you Alvin!!!!
Then, our buddy Arizona got himself a foster!!! You remember my story about Tango and Mango....well it turns out Mango was very unhappy after Tango went to the Rainbow Bridge....Randy could see how lethargic and upset she was....so Arizona to the rescue, at least for a while. I know her spirits perked up, he's not Tango....but no one is!!! They are doing well and it remains to be seen.

Just got to Randy's , waiting for the introduction!!!!

So a really busy weekend.....I would like every one to be like that, at least as far as adoptions and fosters!!!!
I want to wish all the Moms out there a Happy Mother's Day.....whether your kids are two-legged, four-legged or in the case of my friend Denise, three-legged...please have a wonderful day!!!!

Fundraiser for Husky Haven.....

So we had our fundraiser last Saturday. Beautiful day, wonderful venue and staff, weather was great and we made a good chunk of change. My only complaint....where was everyone. We had a good turn out , but we sent 800 invitations....so I guess I expected more. Oh well.....they missed a really good time!!!!! This will be mostly in pics....so enjoy!!!!

Want to wish my Dad a Happy Birthday.....88 years young today!!! He's a WWII vet, not many of them around. He's still going strong and having a good life!!!
