Happy Valentine's Day........

Today is Valentine's Day and also my birthday. That's all great , but today is Lizzy's birthday too!!! When I adopted her 7 years ago, I knew she was born in February so it just seemed logical we share the same day. If you told me seven and one half months ago that  she would make it to today......I don't know if I would have believed that. She was so sick. After her surgery more that 6 months ago when they said she wouldn't live for more than 6 months, I started counting everything by the holidays, she feels good on Thanksgiving, going strong Christmas and New Years......she made it to her birthday.......I actually am so happy for everyday with her.....don't know how many those are, but they are all good.

So happy ninth birthday beautiful girl!!! So many people told me dogs sometimes defy the odds with pancreatic cancer.....I know she's terminal, but for now she doesn't......

    Dogs are so amazing. The things they go through, the odds they defy. And almost always with a loving spirit! I am glad for each day she is in your life, loving unconditionally and making you laugh.

    Happy birthday Beth and Lizzy! I am so glad she is still with you and sharing life with you! I think being a dog would be a blessing... They don't what terminal is and live in the moment!

    Happy Belated Birthday and thanks for stopping by our blog. Lizzy sounds a lot like Phantom. He had a major surgery in 2009 that he never should have survived and here he is 6 years late at the wonderful age of 16. Every day with him is a gift. Our extended family has a lab Gypsy who is 12 and on the countdown of her life with advanced liver and pancreatic disease - vet has given her until early April, but she is hanging in there too.

      Wow that is good to hear.....except for the fact she is thin, you would never know she was sick. Hope your babies keep hanging in there!!!!
