So I was going to write about how happy I was that not only Kalyn , but Wayne also went to foster last week....but they both came back the Friday after Thanksgiving. Wayne is a big boy, and I don't think they could really handle him.....he is really sweet though....don't think they really need a big dog. Kalyn had some problems....found out the full magnitude of those today, but I can't put that on my blog.....I want our director to fill everyone in. Suffice to say she's ok.....just a long way to go. I think that soon her fosters will get her again.
So that being said, some good news. Yesterday I went to the rescue to help a couple pick out their new dog. They just wanted someone sweet.....so they adopted our sweet girl Saskia. She has been at rescue for awhile.....been fostered before. So glad to see her go to a good home.....

DeleteThank you Linda and Mack for giving Saskia a loving home. I know she will return that love a thousand times over! She is such a sweetheart. I am sorry to hear about Kaylin. She looks so much like my Iniki, it just broke my heart to see her so skinny. Maybe we need to talk about Wayne? Big doesn't bother me...I just need a guy that can tolerate a playful little stinker!

Wayne might be ok for you ...he likes to play. I think Iniki would be all over that....we'll talk. I'm sorry about Kaylin too, she has a lot to go through right now.
DeletePity things didn't work out but lest us hope next time it will.
ReplyDeleteHave a tremendous Thursday.
Best wishes Molly
Thanks Molly....have a wonderful day!!!
DeleteHappy for Saskia, hopeful for Wayne to find the right home, and wishing Kalyn a full recovery.

Yes to all of those!!!!
DeleteSorry I have not answered your questions about Kaylyn. For some reason I have not been able to get on my Facebook page for a couple days. We were going to wait till she was stronger to spay her but she had some bad looking discharge and the Vet was thinking Pymetra and wanted to go ahead and do it now. That infection could kill her and she only weighed 32 lbs and was full of milk when we got her out of Harris Co about a week ago. She was there three days and no pups were with her so did not know how long it was since she had had the pups. We went ahead and did the spay Tues. The BIG surprise was she was PREGNANT again with 5 pups (about three weeks). In her condition there was not way she could have survived another pregnancy. And the pups probably would not have survived with her having an infection. so it was decided to abort the pups. She is also heartworm positive and has a lot o hair loss due to mal nutrition. The good news is she is doing so well and has gained 3 lbs. I am feeding her three times a day with supplements as well. Of course she is staying in the house so I can keep an eye on her. Every night she lays on the couch with me to watch my taped shows. This weekend if she feels well enough, and I think she will, she will go back to be fostered with CiCi and Tom. They adopted Starch from us several years ago and live in Magnolia. She will be fine with a lot of TLC. If anyone has a few extra pennies she could use some help with her Vet bills. I know times are tough around Christmas time but anything will help. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers as well!!. --Pat
